Orbit

For connectors

Get paid for leveraging your network.

Your network is your net worth. Help companies sell to buyers you already know: a seller invites you to its program, you agree on your reward, and you introduce them to your contact at the buyer. You stay in the loop on the deal and earn a share of the sale.

How it works

Three steps, on your terms.

1

Accept an invitation

A seller who wants to meet one of your contacts invites you to its program. You see the seller, the buyers it wants to reach and the proposed reward, and you agree on the terms before you do anything.

2

Introduce your contact

Ask your contact at the buyer, in your own words, whether they’d like to meet the seller. If they agree, make the introduction and track it in Orbit. The seller copies you on the main email thread and invites you to the meetings; you may skip any.

3

Get paid

When the seller wins the sale, your Earnings show what you are owed. The seller pays you according to your agreement: a share of the sale, a retainer, or both.

What you earn

A share of every sale you help close.

Maria from Driftwood Beds wants to sell USD $10M of hotel beds. You know the person who buys them at Hilton. You introduce her; Hilton orders USD $1M of beds. At the ~5% you agreed, you earn USD $50,000.

A share of the sale

The most common reward: a percentage of what the seller sells to the buyer you introduced, agreed before you start.

A retainer

A fixed amount for each period you work on the program, for sellers who want you around for the long run.

Both

A retainer while the program runs, plus a share of the sales that come from your introductions.

Your rules

You stay in charge.

  • Orbit never contacts the people you know. You ask your contact yourself, in your own words. If they are not interested, nothing happens.
  • Your contacts stay private to you. The seller sees how many introductions are moving, never names. It learns who your contact is only once they have met.
  • You choose every introduction. Decline any request, leave a program, and skip any meeting. Your agreement says what you earn and when.

Common questions

  • How do I become a connector? A seller invites you. Open the link in the invitation email to create your account, read the agreement and accept it. If you know people at the buyers of a company that sells, tell them about Orbit.
  • Who are the sellers? Companies with a sales goal and a list of buyers, looking for the people who already know someone there. You see who the seller is and what it sells before you accept.
  • How much time does it take? One message to your contact, an introduction if they say yes, and the meetings you choose to attend. Orbit keeps track of the rest.
  • What if my contact isn’t interested? You say so in Orbit and that is the end of it. Nobody writes to them.
  • How am I paid? The seller pays you directly according to your agreement and marks it paid in Orbit. Your Earnings show every payout and its stage; you can dispute any of them, and Orbit settles it.

Someone you know is someone’s buyer.
